The Eucon Group, digitalization partner for the real estate, automotive and insurance industries, has completed a successful collaboration with the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences in the field of technology scouting. Students from the “Business Administration with Informatics” program have developed possible applications for the company based on various technology trends.

The collaboration between Eucon and the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences started in October 2021 and has now been successfully completed. Over the course of the semester, the students analyzed prioritized technology trends, including smart contracts, digital twins, augmented reality, predictive models using single images and homomorphic encryption, and drew on more than 40 ideas to develop eight refined use cases for Eucon, which will be further examined in the next step of the innovation process.
“This tech collaboration was a complete success,” says Lukas Winkelnkemper, Consultant Corporate Strategy at Eucon. “We will now follow up by ideally selecting three concrete use cases over the course of the year and testing them in the form of pilot projects. The goal is to use them to develop new value-creation potential and innovations. A big thank you once again to the students who made this possible with their groundwork.”
“We too are more than happy with the outcome,” says Prof. Dr. Ralf Plattfaut, Professor of Business Informatics and Head of the Process Innovation & Automation Lab at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, in praise of the project. “Through the collaboration with Eucon, it was possible to test and apply taught knowledge to a concrete example. The project not only brought theory and practice together, but also provided the students with an exciting insight into the working environment.”
